Pinot Noir Tasting and Food Pairing

Monday, January 15, 2024
Calgary Petroleum Club
319 – 5th Ave. SW
Reception – 6:00pm
Tasting/Food Pairing – 6:30pm

Join us in a memorable journey through the vineyards, as we embark on a comparative wine tasting between the delicate Pinot Noirs hailing from the lush landscapes of the North Willamette Valley, Oregon and the sun-kissed vineyards of the South Okanagan region in British Columbia! Prepare to savour the nuanced expressions of terroir, wine making process, and vineyard management practices as these two distinct regions converge in a symphony of Pinot Noir par excellence!

You be the judge. Come to explore the similarities and differences of perhaps the greatest varietal in the wine world – Pinot Noir. The format for this tasting will afford you the opportunity to taste and discuss wines from the Willamette Valley, Oregon and the South Okanagan Valley, B.C. openly, then try your hand at blind tasting. No need for notes, a simple check mark will do; however, take as many notes as you see fit for your purpose. The bottom line is: Do I prefer this wine or not, and how does it pair with the accompanying meal?

We have selected a great line up of the 2019 vintage from: Kelley Fox, Roserock, Brittan, Purple Hands, and Blue Mountain. Eight wines in four flights - one Willamette and one Blue Mountain per flight. The second, third and fourth flights will be paired with a small plate accompaniment to match the wines. Here’s to your exploration that promises to unveil the unique characteristics and personalities of these exceptional wines.

This event will be priced at $150.00, and you may wish to consider tickets as a unique Christmas gift for that novice to expert wine-lover friend or family member, if not attend yourself.

Registration for this event will be available at 7:00pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2023
